Updated Forge Island image 2022

A new leisure destination within the heart of Rotherham, Forge Island is a key development in the Town Centre Masterplan.

Forge Island will include an 8-screen state-of-the-art boutique cinema, delivered by The Arc Cinema, alongside a 69-room Travelodge hotel. This will be complemented by a range of restaurants, bars and attractive public spaces, creating an exciting mixed-use destination.

Work began on this £47 million development in November 2022 and is due for completion in 2024 and already 100% pre-let.

Forging ahead

Five complementary food brands have signed lease contracts, bringing tastes from around the world and a vibrant food offer to the town centre, for the whole community to enjoy.

  • Casa Peri Peri will bring its own style of Portuguese and Southern African flare, created by Masterchef star, Bobby Geetha.
  • Estabulo Rodizio / Sakku Samba is a dual-branded concept honouring the Gaucho style of cooking while at the same time celebrating a fusion of Japanese-Brazilian cuisine. It will be the first time that the two concepts are brought together under one roof.
  • Caffé Noor is a revolutionary luxury coffee shop with a fundamental difference. 50% of all profits will be donated to local community organisations to support vulnerable people.
  • Local restaurant chain Cow & Cream will offer customers the opportunity to personalise their burgers, shakes and desserts. All made with the freshest ingredients and cooked to order.
